Hoarwithy. With its curious Italianate church, suspension bridge over the Wye and great pub makes for an excellent afternoon out walking.

PUBS. The New Harp Inn in Hoarwithy is a great rural gastro pub, different beers, ciders and food events. The Castle Inn in the village, a walk away, meals and snacks, large woodburner and garden. The Loughpool Inn, beautiful location and good food (01989 730236). The Stagg Inn, Kington given 16½ - 20 score by Guardian 2005 (01544 230221).
